To help there will be a giant garage sale at my house Friday 9/10 and Sat 9/11 7am to probably 11am maybe noon. I promise there will be good stuff! We had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are so blessed and have so much to be grateful for! We spent the start of the New Year in Pinetop and the adults had more fun sledding in the snow than the kids did!

Baron was born October 29 at 8:30 pm by c-section. He was supposed to come at 5 but there was a problem with scheduling at the hospital, imagine telling that to a pregnant lady that has been fasting all day and is expecting her baby! All went well and he weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces! We are in love and can not get enough of him! Turns out he is just as adorable as his big sisters!

Well I guess I didn't get to posting pictures of the baby's room. It is almost done, so those will come soon. Today is the day and we could not be more excited. We can not wait for this little guy to get here! Wish me luck.I wonder how much he will look like these cute girlies? I've been told he already has a lot of hair. But I'm not sure anyone can rival this cutie! I can hardly wait!

P.S. my friend is having a garage sale on Sat, she lives on Robson in the Evergreen historic District. Check it out. I took a cute little dresser over there, go buy it. And I know she will have great stuff!

Hooray I went to the doctor and the count down is on baby boy to arrive next week!! We can't wait!Last week we took advantage of some time off of school and work and headed up North to see what changing into fall really means. It was beautiful!

#1! I have been growing a baby!! A boy!! He is due November 7th, but we are hoping he will come a little sooner! We have not settled on a name just yet. His room is almost done, and I will post pictures of that soon. We can hardly wait for him to get here!!

#2 We have a new cousin, Brody he is so sweet and so cute, he has two older sisters, just like we are going to have, so fun to be the same! We are also expecting a new niece, and we can hardly wait for her to get here. Mine and Niki's due dates are just days apart, but she gets to have here baby first, it is so fun to be pregnant together!

#3 We spent the 4th of July with some of my most favorite people in the world, The Nielson and Clark families! This was a long awaited trip the makes me teary just thinking about it! It was perfect in every way. I miss you Stephanie!(some how our pictures were deleted off our camera so I borrowed this on from Nie)

#4 We are grateful and honored to be the proud owners of a fabulous Madsen bike!

#5 Spencer and I spent a few fabulous days in San Francisco. We had a great time with our friends The Biglers! It was my first time there. Alcatraz was our favorite.

#7 We went to the beach. This was our first time in Oceanside, it was great!
#8 We went to Disneyland. It was a pretty busy weekend we mostly rode, Dumbo, Small World, The Carousel and The Tea cups, over and over again. We did ride a few others but only once. I guess we will have to go back when it is not so busy!

Well my girlie lost her first tooth!! I can't believe she is growing up! After a bit of drama last night, it came out with a bite on an apple this morning. She is so excited to get a little spending money for Disneyland, because thats where we're headed this weekend! I heard her singing this morning "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, so I can get married!" Pretty cute!

Livvy was telling me we should just pick up and go to Disneyland, I told her "Oh honey it costs a lot of money to go to Disneyland" She said "I know we can just turn in our old gold jewelery and get some money!" I told her that was a great idea but I don't have any gold jewelery, so when we stopped by a garage sale a few days later she saw a gold chain and told me I could send that in. I sure wish it was that easy!

More dresses. I love the masculine print with the girly lace! I didn't have a pattern for Avrey's dress I tried to follow something she already had, so she might not wear it again, it was a little tight! I put two patterns together to make Livvy's dress. I wanted a European look.

Well you can just call us the Vontrapp (Sound of Music) family this year. I found these beautiful red curtains at an estate sale and knew just what I wanted to do with it! There was tons of fabric, a friend of mine used it to make her girls dresses last year! My talented neighbor came over and helped me make them on Sat, just in time to wear the Sunday before Christmas.

It turned out pretty good. I had the fabric (bought at two separate times and places) I think the cherries are adorable, and I love the little knot pockets.

My cute brother in law and his sweet wife Cathy got married in Oct. The wedding was beautiful, Cathy was beautiful, it was a lovely day. We are so happy for them!

Natalia, Emily, Erin and I made skirts for the little girls to match. They turned out darling! I had the best time sewing with my wonderful sister in laws that I love so much! I like sewing with someone, it makes it even more fun! Thanks for the great time girls!

I know I am very behind on my posts so I am trying to catch up!This is the girls poppa. He is a funny guy! We love him so much! He loves being a grandpa, and we love that he is ours!

Here is my witch. I made Livvy's costume because I didn't want her to be just any witch! She thought she was spooky, but I think she was just cute!

Here is our flamingo! We taught her to stand like a real flamingo and she did it at every house we stopped at! So cute! She kept her costume on her head surprisingly well!

Both girls kept their eyelashes on too!

Here we are as Marge and Homer! This hilarious costume was loaned to us by Becky and Nate! Thanks guys those eyeballs were sure hard to keep in but were good for some great laughs!

We had a football game to go to before an annual Halloween party by these lovely ladies, so we needed a quick costume, thus the boss and the secretary.

I can't find my usb cable to download pictures I have to do some updating here, so to put up something new (Mandi this is for you) I've been tagged for 2-7 random facts about myself. These things are usually pretty hard for me, so we will see what I can come up with.

1. One of my hopes and dreams of someday is to be a contestant on a game show! I love playing games. I am not super competitive (like some people I love dearly) I just think it's fun to play. My top choices would be The Price is Right, Family Fued, or that old game with the wammies, (I can't remember the name of it).

2. I loooove hot showers! If the water stayed warm for longer, I would probably stay in there a good couple of hours, prunes and all! It is hypnotic for me, I can't just jump in and be quick, I like to run all the hot water out. I know I'm a waster it's terrible.

3. I love rock a billy fashion. Not the skulls and flames and stuff, mostly the hair styles I suppose. If I was really brave I would have black hair with red highlights and cute bangs. I just love vintage style.

4. If I wasn't the person that I am I would get a partial tattoo sleeve, from the top of my shoulder to about mid bicep. With girly colorful things, and Spencer and my childrens names in there.

5. I love to dance. I don't have any rhythm left. (maybe I never did have any) but I don't care, I wish Spencer would take me dancing.

6. I love good food!!! I love going to new restaurants and trying new recipes. If there is a commercial for something new like chips or candy or something, I will buy it, I have to try it.

7. I am a horrible speller. I think it's probably because I don't really care all that much, so I don't try very hard. (I know I just horrified a few people)

8. I thought of one more. My pet peeve is when people spell my name wrong, I know it should be a big deal but it just irks me a little. I have cursed my children, and I am sure their names will be spelled wrong their whole lives. Hopefully it won't bug them.

The fundraiser went swimmingly! It was a wonderful day, and there are so many people to thank!! Thank you everyone that put so much time, effort, and love into this event! It couldn't have been more wonderful!! The support was great! I was so busy running here and there I didn't get any pictures so I will borrow some from my sweet sister Niki's blog! Thank you Niki for all you did, I love you! Spencer did a wonderful job (along with Boyd and a few others) manning the ticket booth! Thank you Spencer, you are the love of my life and I couldn't do anything without you!

Everything looked so professional, many thanks to Debbie Brenner! Your dedication and creativity did not go unnoticed and was so appreciated!

This booth was my favorite by far! These wonderful ladies put so much effort into a rather challenging thing! Stephanie will be so proud when she gets to see this! Thank you Jody, Tauna and Ashley!

Maybe this was my favorite booth showing the Nie movie. Thank you Jodee and Andy Dillard you created such a beautiful tribute to Stephanie and Christian. I love, it but it gets hard for me to watch aswell!

Thank you doesn't seem like to enough to say to Reachel, she put countless hours into organizing the whole event and the silent auction! She is the most on top of things lady I have ever met. The beautiful Nielson children are lucky and blessed to have an incredible godmother like her! Stephanie and Christian have heavenly friends in this wonderful couple!

We were honored to have some of Stephanie and Christians families in attendance! We were so happy to see all of you!

Blissfest and Nie Nie Fundraiser

So I have been talking a lot about the Blissfest and fundraiser coming up on Oct 18. Well, we are looking for help to run the carnival booths, or donations of prizes for the carnival games. Feeling Nostalgic

So the other night I was watching 100 greatest songs of the 90's on VH1. It brought back a lot of memories. Most of my high school memories are attached to music. I have a terrible memory. I didn't used to. I blame it on having babies. But hearing some of those songs made me remember fun times, stupid times, and just left me feeling nostalgic. I hosted a bunco and it was a music theme. I asked everyone who their favorite band was in high school. I had to think really hard but I came up with Weezer. What is your favorite band/song from high school? Any fun memories you would like to share? Here are a few of my favorite songs I had forgotten about: Linger by the Cranberries, Stay by Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories, One Week by Bearnaked Ladies, Two Princes by Spin Doctors, Hey Jealousy by Gin Blossoms, Wonderwall by Oasis, oh and sooo many more! I am blessed beyond belief! I am one proud mama! These are two beautiful girls if I do say so myself! (thank you for the stunning pictures check out this talented lady) I am learning a lot of hard lessons, I might be ready to write about them soon, but for today I am just going to enjoy the blessing of having these two precious girls to love and take care of!

Healthy, wealthy, and wise...

I have tried harder to keep my body healthy lately. I have been trying to work out and make healthy dinners for my family. It feels good to take care of myself and my family. The best part is that Spencer and I have been trying to do more things together. We were doing yoga regularly and I felt like it helped to bring us closer together. Last night we went running. Spencer's i pod ran out of power right after we started, so I offered to sing for him, well that was really hard to do while running! So then I suggested we try using one set of headphones and each of us take a side and plug it into my i pod. It was pretty funny, but it worked. And actually it was hard because we had to stay close enough to keep the ear piece in, but far enough apart to be able to move. I felt like we were truly working together and that is always a good thing! I love Spencer so much and am so grateful for all that he does for our little family everyday! I am one lucky lady!

Nie and I have become very close and we have a special friendship, she and her family are people that I care about deeply. Nie and her husband along with a flight instructor were recently in a terrible plane crash. Please keep her and her husband Christian in your prayers, and their whole family as well as they begin the long painful journey to recovery. Please pray for the instructor and his family. If you would like to read about and keep updated on how the family is doing you can check with Stephanie's sister cjane. Also please read what my sister Niki has said. I know first hand how the power of prayer works. I feel so blessed to know that thru the love of our Father in Heaven we can be comforted. I know what a special gift we have all been given by our Saviors atoning sacrifice. I am so grateful to have strength from my conviction in knowing that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is ture.

which ended up turning out more like a dinner mint than taffy, but still good
We had so much fun while Rocco was in town! Now we are off for a night in the cabin! Gotta pack it all in before Livvy is at school everyday!

became this.
Livvy picked out the buttons herself.
Looks pretty darn cute on this pretty darn cute girl it was made for.

I have out played my workout playlist on my ipod. I need some suggestions on what y'all like to listen to while you work out. My sister showed me this cool thing on her phone I believe it is called pandora's box. Well I would also like to hear some suggestions on cool music that you listen to that perhaps not everyone knows. I really like hearing new stuff, or new to me at least.

Easton was born on Friday morning to my sweet sister Alli (my little sister that Avrey looks just like!) Alli worked hard, and did a fabulous job to getting this sweet chubby cheeked boy here! After a hard 24 hour labor he was born by c- section (he was just to big at 8lbs. 9oz!) We are so excited to love on this baby! My girls can hardly wait to meet him! We sure love you guys!

My girls have never even seen a parade, this was there first one, it was great!

Watching the jets fly by at the start of Stadium of Fire.(sing along if you know the song). This was one of my most favorite 4th of Julys ever! my pictures got out of order and I didn't know how to fix them.

Murray Family Farms

On our way home from Bakersfield we stopped at Murray Family Farms where you can pick your own fruits.

There were blackberries, blueberries, plums, apricots, pluots, and figs.
They also had delicious pineapple watermelon which was just yellow inside, but super sweet.
Out of everyone I think Livvy and I enjoyed it the most.
She ate all the blueberries we picked, by herself.
We definitely need a garden. I think it will be a great chore for Livvy to have to tend it. I can't wait to eat fresh fruits and vegetables that we grow ourselves!

Last week we all went to see Mandi, Rocco and Presley in California. With no husbands around we were able to just relax and do what ever we wanted, when ever we wanted. We had a great time doing a whole lot of hanging out.

We found these two in bed together one morning, I thought it was pretty cute. Avrey just climbed in there all by herself.
These three had such a fun time together.
Even though my Mom, Niki and Lexi went to see Mandi with us, this is the only picture with an adult in it. Check the hot new sunglasses. Due to Alli's baby growing, she wasn't able to come, we sure missed you!

We had a great time with the Collins crew, and we miss you guys already!

It's so great to be a kid

It's so great to be a kid, because I am convinced that an apple the size of your head tastes better than any other apple, ever. I love food, when I was younger and asked what kind of animal I wanted to be, it was a horse. And the reason for wanting to be a horse was so that I could have access to food 24 hours a day and all I had to do would be lean over and it was right there. Again I love food.

This is the man I love with all my heart. This is the man that our children adore. This is the man that provides for his family. This is the man that made it possible for me to enjoy the delight of being a mother. This is the man that is not just a father, but a Daddy which is so much more. I am thankful, for the good man he is. One of the things that attracted me to him from the beginning was how great he was with kids. I knew he would be a great dad, and he is even more than I imagined. We are so blessed, Happy Fathers Day! We love You!

It's so great to be a mom when your 2 year old says, "I want Livvy to hold me," after she woke up from her nap a little grumpy. And then your 4 year old says "okay sissy I will hold you, you are so cute, I love you." That was one of my most joyous moments as a mother.

We sure had fun at the sale, it turned out just the way we wanted it to, (for the most part.) Thanks to everyone who put so much time into it, and for all you that came out and supported us. Now we will start to plan our fall sale.

We will have some cute T-shirts at out sale, one will say along the lines of "we've got Junque coming out our ears" Freeman Corn Patch, with vintage junque fair on the back, the other will say "you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl" with a flower and vintage button on it. We were wondering if you might be interested in purchasing one, and if so what size would you want? There will be two styles of shirts and they will be women's sizes.

Can you believe this is what our Memorial Day weekend looked like in Arizona!
We went to Forest Lakes on Friday night, by Sunday everything started to melt off, but we did get to go sleding.
Pip thought she was in heaven, she just kept eating the snow and rolling around in it.
We had a great weekend the weather was perfect and the company was great. My girls love to be outside, we are all happy!

I have decided to paint my kitchen.
I want a something with color, but still stays neutral somehow.
The kitchen is open to the family room, which I don't want to paint.
I know these colors are hard to see, but it was hard to take a picture of them.

Last week Mandi and I went to an estate sale. It was different from any I've ever been to. They shipped 6 trucks loads here from Michigan. We didn't get there early enough because we missed out on some fabulous finds. People had piles of great stuff that I wanted for myself!

We did manage to find a few things. This stack of plates has these darling birds and some floral plates as well.
This metal lunch box is a little rusty, just the way I like it.
All this is sitting on a cute planter. Oh my addiction, I can't help but feed it! I crave a good find!

It's great to be a kid, because you are unaware of the harsh realities of the world. We were staying at a hotel on Friday night, we were up on the sixth floor with a balcony. The balcony next to us happened to have people smoking there. After we came back from dinner, Livvy and Avrey were playing on the balcony, apparently our next door friends had finished their cigarettes, but had their leftovers close to where my girls could reach them, Livvy comes back in and says "it's okay I only touched the cigarette a little bit" with her thumb and pointer finger close together bringing them toward her mouth she says "but I didn't whistle it." It was so funny to get some insight into her little mind.

My Angel Mother

Here is my beautiful mother and my sweet sister Lexi.

How do I even begin to describe my wonderful mother? She is a pillar of strength. When my dad died she told us we had a choice either we continue forward, rely on each other for strength and grow closer as a family, or we crumble. We chose to press on. She has held our family together as we have faced one of the hardest trials imaginable. My mother is a true example of a Christ like woman. She never says no to helping someone no matter what it maybe. Her family is her whole life. She has taught me how to be a good mom. She has always been my friend, someone I could confide in. She loves deeper than anyone I know. She has allowed me to borrow from her testimony as I have created my own. She is my neighbor and I am the luckiest for it. She is always willing to help with my girls and she is their best friend. She is everything a mother should be, is a perfect example to me, I strive everyday to be more like my mother. I love you mom, thank you for teaching me, thank you for loving me. You are celestial. I pray to become like you. I love you more than I know how to express.

Motherhood

These are my babies that I love more than life itself, I will do whatever it takes to protect them. These sweet girlies have helped me to realized that if needed I could shoot and kill someone. Does that make me sound like a lunatic or do you get me on this one?

I love that their whole existence depends on me, and knowing that they are happy is so rewarding, is that selfish?
I love swinging, it makes me happy to just for a moment enjoy it. I can't swing without forgetting everything else around me, for some reason it just makes me carefree and sort of giggly. This how being a mother makes me feel. Total joy and happiness. Don't get me wrong sometimes motherly duties are hard and frustrating, but I'll take it.

Nothing brings me more peace and purpose than to hear my girls say I love you mama. I love when Livvy tells me I love you mommy I am never going to give you up, you are the best mommy I ever had. Avrey was snuggling with me in bed this morning and she said brown eyes like me and same nose and lips as she was pointing to my face. Does she realize that we really do look so much a like, or is she just getting that we are both divine creations and both have wonderful bodies?

Motherhood is a divine calling and I am so blessed to experience it. I am doing exactly what I should be in my life right now and I am grateful.

My own mother is my perfect example and I am going to share some things about her with you tomorrow.

It's so great to be a kid because you are not embarrassed to wear your reading glasses. (or watching tv glasses, which ever they may be) I found Avrey like this after I had gotten Livvy ready for school, so funny!

An encounter with a Turkey

Recently, Spencer has enjoyed hunting. His first hunt was elk, he had a great time, and decided to try turkey. I guess Turkey can see very well, they can even see you blink, so you have to cover your face! In the spring Turkey are very vulnerable, if they hear a call, they come looking for a fight, or for a mate. Spencer and some friends called in a Turkey and saw one. You are only allowed 3 shots in your gun at a time. And you have to shoot a turkey in the head, other wise it just sort of bounces off them.
So they see this turkey and Spencer fires off two shots and just wounds it because it starts to run away, naturally Spencer runs after it. (Boy am I bummed I missed that, my man running thru the forest ready to shoot chasing a turkey) As he is running he reaches into his pocket for more shots, but blasted pulls out his chapstick. He was afraid it was going to fly away. (WHAT! Turkey fly?! well I guess they more glide, but either way I know I would be freaked out to be enjoying a nice day in the woods, and see a Turkey in the sky!!!) So anyway Spencer fires with his last shot and gets it, he broke its neck! None of these three hunters had ever gotten a Turkey before, so they just did what they know, and skinned it like an elk. All this was Friday so we planned to have a lovely turkey dinner for Sunday dinner. Spencer was in charge and decided to deep fry the Turkey, never having done that before, he just followed the package directions.

Note to everyone reading, don't deep fry a turkey that has no skin for too long, it become inedible. Hilarious!!! We had to cook some chicken for dinner instead. Oh well my husband is a great hunter, but not such a great cook. And I think this is a great story.

Games

I love board games, and card games. I always try to get Spencer to play and he rarely likes to. Some of the reasons I love going to the beach, or to a cabin, is because we stay up late playing games. It makes me so happy. For Christmas last year, all the girls on Spencer's side of the family did a game gift exchange. My wonderful mother in law, and fun sisters in law Erin, Natalia, and Emily all love playing games as much as I do. I love it! The girls and I played a few games of go fish and crazy 8's today, I should have been recruiting Livvy all along! I love playing games on Sunday afternoons when all the family is around. One of my favorite games as of late is What are some of your favorite games?

It's so great to be a kid because you have someone to take care of you. We have had a sick little Livvy this weekend, and thankfully she is starting to feel better. I have been at her every beckon call, because I just feel so bad when my babies don't feel good. I'm sure Avrey will get it next. It sure is draining, hard, rewarding work being the mom!
